Crafted 2011

 
Crafted 2011, the Craft & Design Collective’s Christmas Craft Fair takes place INSIDE the House at Castle Ward, Strangford, County Down
Friday 11 November (1pm to 5.30pm)
Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 November (10.30am to 5.30pm)

Presented in the superb surroundings of the 18th Century house at Castle Ward, Crafted 2011 provides you with the opportunity to see and buy the work of selected Artist/Designer/Makers.

Shop for special gifts with Christmas on the horizon.  Choose from a fabulous range of jewellery, fashion and interior accessories in ceramics, glass, metal, mixed media, textiles and wood.  Meet the Makers.  With prices ranging from the modest to the more luxurious, this is a great chance to treat someone you love to locally made gifts this Christmas or invest in a distinctive piece for yourself or your home.  See and be tempted!

The ‘Green Room Marquee’ will provide a place for visitors to relax with mulled wine and mince pies and for children to take part in Craft Activities.  The Stableyard will be filled with Food Stands.  The Tea Room and the estate are open for everyone to see, use and enjoy.

From Downpatrick take the A25 to Strangford.  Castle Ward is signposted from Downpatrick and Strangford.

CRAFT FEST 2011

A Celebration of Craft, Applied Art and Design
Real Craft Fair, Craft Exhibitions, Craft Workshops, Craft Demonstrations, Children’s Craft Tent
Expect to find some of the best Craft, Applied Art and Design and a most un-high street experience at CRAFT FEST 2011
Friday 12 (1pm to 5.30pm), Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 (10.30am to 5.30pm) August 2011
at Castle Ward, Strangford, County Down.

CRAFT FEST, now in its 8th year is organised by the Craft & Design Collective in partnership with National Trust, Castle Ward.
CRAFT FEST is supported by The National Lottery through the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and is part of August Craft Month 2011.

With many leading local Artist/Designer/Makers heading to Castle Ward on the sumptuous shores of Strangford Lough, it couldn't be a more idyllic setting. Expect to be sorely tempted by gorgeous jewellery, fabulous fashion and interior accessories in ceramic, metal, mixed media, textiles and wood. The only thing that the exhibitors have in common is quality and individuality AND you get to meet and buy the work directly from the makers.

Throughout the weekend
Be inspired by exhibitions in various locations around Castle Ward, including the house itself…
Get involved by booking yourself, and/or your children onto one of the workshops
Be entertained by demonstrations of Craft, Applied Art and Design
An action packed Children’s Craft Tent will guarantee a surge in creativity amongst the young and help to keep them occupied…
Fantastic food, live music (on Sunday) and free parking…

Glass: Maggie Napier demonstrates glass beadmaking and flameworking
Harmonograph: Make a unique drawing on a harmonograph with Jim Parish
Pottery: Have a go on the potter’s wheel with Jenny Bell
