Adam Frew Ceramics - Ceramics
Graduating from University of Ulster in Fine and Applied Art in 2004. I’ve gained experience at Winchcombe Pottery in England and has worked for renowned potters such as Judy Makela in Krukmejeret Pottery, Finland and Lisa Hammond at Maze Hill Pottery in Greenwich.

Based in Flowerfield Arts Centre on the Causeway coast I continue to develop my one-off pots, and a new range of functional works in Porcelain.

I make functional pots and expressive vessels using stoneware and Porcelain clay, fired in a wood or gas kiln.

My approach is to think of the potter’s wheel as a creative tool and the clay surface as a three-dimensional canvas.

I interact strongly with the clay, making marks on the surfaces while they are still wet, deliberately misshaping the vessels.

All of the decoration is spontaneous, a unique fusion of skill and chance – freedom of expression, within necessary boundaries.
